An otherwise normal night out in North Park turned violent early Thursday morning when two men were shot after leaving a bar on the 3900 block of 30th Street. According to San Diego Police, the shooting happened around 2 a.m. when a man approached the victims from behind and opened fire. The attack appears completely unprovoked, with officers stating there was no verbal exchange or physical altercation prior to the shooting and that neither victim knew the suspect.

A 42-year-old man was struck in the foot and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second man, age 33, was grazed on the hand and declined medical treatment at the scene. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, last seen wearing all black clothing. He fled on foot following the shooting, and police are actively searching the area for any leads.
