Wladimir Klitschko is asking law enforcement to investigate after personal items belonging to his late ex, Hayden Panettiere, reportedly ended up in a pawn shop. According to new court documents, Klitschko claims a non-family member connected to Panettiere sold the items, and the pawn shop has declined to share details without a police request. The filing is part of his broader effort to be named guardian of their 11-year-old daughter Kaya’s estate, which he says is necessary because no personal representative has been appointed to handle Panettiere’s affairs.
In the filing, Klitschko warned that without intervention, there is a “real and continuing risk” that remaining items, including jewelry, could be sold or made unrecoverable. Panettiere’s engagement ring reportedly went missing in the final days of her life, adding to his concern. Panettiere died on August 16 at age 36, and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office ruled her death accidental, caused by the toxic effects of fentanyl combined with several other substances.
Through it all, Klitschko has kept his public focus on his daughter, saying he will always speak of Kaya’s mother with respect and make sure she remembers the person she was. The legal fight now moves forward as both a family matter and a cautionary tale about what happens when estates are left unprotected after a sudden loss.
