Thomas Edward Reynolds

Thomas Edward Reynolds, 67, of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2026.

 

Born June 18, 1959, Thomas was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He worked for many years in the construction industry and was admired for his craftsmanship and strong work ethic. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, camping, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.

 

Thomas is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Jason and Mark; four grandchildren; and his sister, Diane.

 

A memorial service celebrating Thomas's life will be held at a later date. The family welcomes friends to share memories and stories in his honor.

Margaret Louise Carter

Margaret Louise Carter, 91, of Champaign, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026.

 

Margaret was born February 22, 1935. She was a longtime elementary school teacher who devoted much of her life to helping young people learn and grow. In retirement, she enjoyed reading, quilting, baking, and spending time with her family.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Carter; son, Michael Carter; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas.

 

The family will receive friends at a private gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local literacy program.

Harold James Bennett

Harold James Bennett, 74, of Danville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.

 

Harold was born November 9, 1951, and spent his career as a skilled mechanic. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, restoring classic cars, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Friends and family will remember him for his quick wit and willingness to lend a helping hand.

 

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia; three children; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

 

A private family service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to a local veterans' organization in Harold's memory.

Eleanor Mae Whitaker

Eleanor Mae Whitaker, 82, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, surrounded by her family.

 

Born March 14, 1944, Eleanor was known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and love of gardening. She spent many years working at the Springfield Public Library before retiring in 2004.

 

Eleanor is survived by her two children, David Whitaker and Susan Miller; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her parents.

 

A celebration of Eleanor's life will be held at a later date. The family asks that memorials be made to a local community garden in her honor.
