Candace Cameron Bure Becomes a Grandmother of 2 With Birth of Granddaughter Winnie

Candace Cameron Bure has a new reason to celebrate. The Full House star announced on Oct. 8 that her daughter Natasha Bure Perry and son-in-law Bradley S. Perry welcomed a baby girl named Winnie. It’s the second grandchild for Bure, who posted that she now has a grandchild to hold in each arm. “Dreams really do come true,” she wrote. “We love you so much Winnie sweet pea.”

The new arrival comes with a couple of details fans are loving. Winnie’s middle name, Helaine, is the same as Candace’s middle name, a sweet tribute carried into the next generation. And the grandparent names in this family are anything but ordinary: Candace goes by CandyGram, while her husband Valeri Bure goes by Deda. Natasha, 28, the oldest of Bure’s three children, added “Winnie’s Mom” to her Instagram bio, and new dad Bradley, 27, also shared photos welcoming his daughter. Well-wishes came in from Lori Loughlin and Taylor Lautner, among others.

For a family that has spent decades in the public eye, this milestone feels refreshingly normal. It’s a reminder that becoming a grandparent is one of those moments that brings joy no matter who you are. Winnie is already surrounded by a whole lot of love, plus a grandma with a nickname nobody is going to forget.

Wladimir Klitschko Wants Pawned Jewelry Investigation as He Seeks Guardianship of Son's Estate

Wladimir Klitschko is asking law enforcement to investigate after personal items belonging to his late ex, Hayden Panettiere, reportedly ended up in a pawn shop. According to new court documents, Klitschko claims a non-family member connected to Panettiere sold the items, and the pawn shop has declined to share details without a police request. The filing is part of his broader effort to be named guardian of their 11-year-old daughter Kaya’s estate, which he says is necessary because no personal representative has been appointed to handle Panettiere’s affairs.

In the filing, Klitschko warned that without intervention, there is a “real and continuing risk” that remaining items, including jewelry, could be sold or made unrecoverable. Panettiere’s engagement ring reportedly went missing in the final days of her life, adding to his concern. Panettiere died on August 16 at age 36, and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office ruled her death accidental, caused by the toxic effects of fentanyl combined with several other substances.

Through it all, Klitschko has kept his public focus on his daughter, saying he will always speak of Kaya’s mother with respect and make sure she remembers the person she was. The legal fight now moves forward as both a family matter and a cautionary tale about what happens when estates are left unprotected after a sudden loss.

Four Big Questions Ahead of the 2027 Grammys

The 2027 Grammys are still months away, but the nominations conversation is already heating up. The show is set for Feb. 7 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and Billboard’s experts have flagged four storylines that could shape the entire awards season. At the top of the list: country music’s long-awaited breakthrough. Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” recently broke the Billboard Hot 100 record for most weeks at No. 1, and there’s real momentum behind the idea that country artists could land multiple general field nominations for the first time in decades.

Then there’s Drake, who had one of the biggest years of his career with three albums in May, including the chart-topping ICEMAN. But sources say he didn’t submit any music for Grammy consideration, continuing a frosty relationship with the Academy that goes back years. He once called awards shows an “opinion-based sport,” and this move suggests he’s sticking to that stance.

Dance music is another category to watch, with women potentially dominating the best dance/electronic album race and Madonna’s Confessions II leading the charge. The genre grew 18.9% year over year in U.S. on-demand audio streams, so the timing feels right. Add in the possibility that superstars like Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift could split their record and song of the year submissions, and you’ve got plenty to debate before February. Which of these storylines are you most excited to follow?

Survivor Alum Jaime Dugan and Son Harper Reported Missing After Divorce

Survivor: China fans remember Jaime Dugan and Erik Huffman as one of the show’s early couples. They met on the island in 2007, married, welcomed a son named Harper, and for years looked like the success story the show loved to point to. That narrative has officially fallen apart. A South Carolina judge has reportedly found Dugan, 41, in direct contempt for failing to return Harper, 16, to his father and for missing court hearings. The judge also declared Harper “missing and endangered” and called for Dugan’s immediate arrest, according to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail.

Dugan’s version of events is very different. She denies being on the run, telling outlets that the FBI has not contacted her and that Harper has completed wellness checks. A family friend says the teen was last seen with his mother in Cayce, South Carolina, on August 30. Meanwhile, Erik Huffman has said publicly that he fears for his son’s safety, and his statement that he hates his son has “been ripped away” has been widely shared.

For anyone following from a distance, this story touches on the questions we all wrestle with: what happens when a court order and a parent’s instincts collide, and who protects the kid in the middle? Authorities are asking anyone with information to call the FBI at 803-551-4200. Have you ever seen a custody dispute play out publicly, and do you think the attention helps or hurts the family involved?

Kids Free San Diego Returns: 60+ Attractions Free for October

October just became the cheapest month of the year for San Diego families. The San Diego Museum Council has brought back its annual Kids Free San Diego program, which gives children ages 12 and under free admission at more than 60 museums and attractions across the county. The promotion runs Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, so there’s no rush to cram it all into one weekend.

The participating sites cover serious ground. You’ll find options in East County, North County, South Bay, Old Town, Coronado, and the City of San Diego, which means most families have something within a short drive. The attractions themselves range from art and history to science, nature, wildlife, trains, and ships. That spread matters if you’ve got kids of different ages, since a train exhibit and a wildlife center can usually satisfy two very different attention spans on the same afternoon.

If you’re planning around fall break or looking for Halloween-season activities that don’t involve a corn maze admission fee, this is a solid place to start. The complete list of participating museums is posted on the San Diego Museum Council’s website, and it’s worth scanning before the month fills up.

Netflix's East of Eden Reimagines Steinbeck's Villain as a Sympathetic Figure

Netflix’s new seven-episode take on John Steinbeck’s East of Eden arrives Thursday, and it makes one bold decision right out of the gate. Instead of juggling the novel’s sprawling cast, creator Zoe Kazan, granddaughter of 1955 film director Elia Kazan, trims most of the Hamilton family storyline and centers the series on Cathy Ames. Florence Pugh plays the role, and both Kazan and Pugh have said they wanted to make Cathy sympathetic rather than purely monstrous.

That choice has stirred up real debate. One critic argues that humanizing Cathy weakens the novel’s core exploration of good and evil, since the story depends on her being genuinely unsettling. Supporters say a fresh, more complex reading of a 70-year-old classic is exactly what a new adaptation should offer.

Almost everyone, however, agrees on one thing: Hoon Lee’s performance as the housekeeper Lee is the highlight of the series. So whether you’re a devoted Steinbeck reader or you’ve never picked up the book, this one gives you something to chew on. Are you planning to watch, and do you think some villains should stay villains? Let us know in the comments.
